Prof. Liao Xianghong, Vice-president of the Central Academy was awarded a 2012 Excellence Prize for Best Director in the Theatre Showcase of National Institutions for "The Special Homework". Mr. Dai Jinsong was awarded the Excellence Prize for Best Music for "Silly Cat and Clever Bear". Yi Yan, an M.A. student of the Stage Design Department was awarded an Excellence Prize for Best Stage Design for "Desire Garden".

The showcase was held in Beijing from August 24 to September 30. 35 productions from 9 theatre institutions participated in it.
