On the morning of Sept. 4, the opening ceremony of the ‘Training Course for Guangxi Art Professionals (2023)’, a project co-operated by the Central Academy of Drama and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was held at the Dongcheng Campus of the Academy. The attendees included Tang Zhengzhu (First-Class Inspector at Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), He Xiaoping (Director of Arts of the Department), Xiong Jianhou (First-Class Researcher at Public Service Office of the Department), Zhao Wei (General Manager and Executive Director of Guangxi Star Education Management Co., LTD), Hao Rong (President of the CAD), Song Ying (Vice President of the CAD), Li Qihou (Director of Continuing Education Centre of the CAD), Hu Shui (Vice Director of Continuing Education Centre of the CAD, Prof, Ding Ruru and Prof. Wang Yana, along with all students of the training course. The Opening Ceremony was hosted by Song Ying.

The Opening Ceremony

First, Ms. Song Ying briefed on the background and details about the training course: outstanding artistic professionals had been selected from all over Guangxi and would be engaged in intensive studies at Central Academy of Drama for 4 months. The project would be implemented by Guangxi Star Education Management Co., LTD, building on the CAD’s abundant resource in art education. The aim of the project is to nurture virtuous and skillful art professionals for performing art in Guangxi.

Then President Hao Rong elaborated on the deep connection between the CAD and Guangxi: The Academy had signed Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation with the Publicity Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Entrusted by Department of Culture and Tourism, the CAD took on the ‘Cultivation of Young Art Professionals’ project and would work to nurture excellent directors and playwrights for Guangxi. To this end, the CAD had gathered the best teachers in these fields to provide the students with the best education possible.

After the Opening Ceremony, students went to an exhibition about the revolution of art education before attending their first class meeting.
