Signing Ceremony of Communication and Cooperation Agreement on Double Degree of Acting between The Central Academy of Drama (China) & St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (Russia) was held in Dongcheng campus of The Central Academy of Drama. Prof. Xu Xiang, president of The Central Academy of Drama, and Prof. Alexander Chepurov, president of St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (Russia), attended the signing ceremony and signed in the Cooperation Agreement.
The exchange project of 2+2 double-degree on four-year acting developed between The Central Academy of Drama (China) & St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (Russia) will be implemented in September, 2015, which is the first time to cooperate on undergraduate major between the two academies since the long cooperation and is also the first example of international cooperation in theatre arts academic education in China. Training programme will be jointly drawn up by the two academies and credits will be approved each other. Students will study two years respectively in The Central Academy of Drama (China) & St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (Russia) and will get the graduation (degree) certificate issued by the two academies if they pass the examinations. In the ceremony, two presidents answered the questions put forward by the media. Prof. Xu Xiang explained the concept and meaning of the cooperation model and the actual measures in enrollment and training of the joint training project. Prof. Alexander Chepurov introduced the teaching arrangement such as how to solve the problems they met during their study in Russia and how to guarantee the training quality etc.
Situated at the cultural center of Russia, St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (Russia) was founded in 1779, which is the oldest theatre seat of learning in Russia and is also the largest acting art educational research center in Europe. The academy collects the best drama artists from Russia and Europe and has trained a lot of top drama and movie art talents, enjoying a high reputation in the world.
The establishment of 2+2 training model is an important measure for The Central Academy of Drama to improve the reform of talent training model. In the next five years, The Central Academy of Drama will aim at the most advantage major of the best art colleges in the world, broaden the joint training channel and upgrade talent training quality to build an art college with Distinctive Features and World Class, playing a leading role for the reform and development of national higher education in drama.
