In September 2013, on the occasion of the 3rd GATS(Global Alliance of Theatre Schools) International Theatre Festival organized in Beijing, delegates from the participating member schools of this organization decided unanimously the transfer of the headquarters of GATS General Secretariat from Bucharest (Romania) to Beijing (P.R. China) as of October 1st, 2014.

The presence of the General Secretariat within the Changping Campus of The Central Academy of Drama from China does not assume any form of subordination to The Central Academy of Drama and the information sent internationally by GATS fall on the responsibility of the General Secretariat.
