On the morning of December 4th, a delegation of four from the Bartók Faculty of Art, University of Szeged, Hungary, arrived at the CAD’s Changping Campus for educational observation and exchange. The delegation included Dean Dr. Róbert Nátyi, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Péter Tóth, Opera Performance Department teacher Zhang Yu, and Szeged University's China Representative Wang Puxu. President Hao Rong of the CAD conducted the meeting, attended by Director Ju Ping of the CAD’s Foreign Affairs Office, Director Li Qihou from the Continuing Education Centre, and Ma Wanqiu from the CAD’s Foreign Affairs Office.

The Bartók Faculty of Arts at the University of Szeged, with a history of over 125 years, is renowned as one of the leading musical higher education institutions in Hungary. It offers undergraduate and master's degree programmes in performance and music education, with a newly added programme in opera conducting this year.

During the meeting, Dean Dr. Róbert Nátyi expressed Hungary's historical affinity with Asia, being one of the earliest countries to support and participate in China's "Belt and Road" initiative. He emphasised that the Bartók Faculty of Art holds the unique distinction of being one of only two Faculties globally bearing the title of “Bartók.” Additionally, it boasts a renowned faculty and an advanced international exchange platform. Similarly, the Central Academy of Drama plays a pivotal role in China's education landscape for drama, film, and television, solidifying its status as an outstanding collaborator.

President Hao Rong warmly received the proposal, stressing the importance of directing collaborative efforts between the two institutions towards educational advancement, disciplinary enhancement, and the promotion of folk culture. The discussion delved into fostering extensive cooperation through initiatives such as student exchanges, master classes, international competitions, and collaborative rehearsals. Subsequently, the delegation was given a comprehensive tour of the Practice-based Education Centre, during which Director Zhou Yi meticulously elucidated the theatre facilities, stage arrangements, and operational procedures. This pivotal meeting served as the cornerstone for future collaborations between the two institutions, particularly in the realms of pre-college education and inter-school exchanges.
