Mr. Xu Yongsheng is a CPC member, a professor and a master's supervisor. He now serves as Secretary of Party Committee of the CAD.

He holds multiple posts, from Vice President of China Art Education Federation to Vice Chairman of National Steering Committee for Art Education at Higher Education Institutions, from Vice President of China Drama Association to Vice President of Beijing Theatre Association, and from Secretary-General of China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes to the initiator of China Collaboration Innovation Center for Theatre Arts Management (CCICTAM).

He graduated from the Department of Stage Design at the CAD and stayed to teach upon graduation in 1989. He has been acting in different roles at the CAD: Deputy Director of the Department of Practical Learning, Director of Performance Centre for Practical Learning, and then Assistant to President (while being the Director of President’s Office at the same time in 2010). He became Vice President in December 2010. Meanwhile, he acted as the Director of the Department of Theatre Management from December 2011 to December 2013, and as Head of the CAD's Academic Committee from 2019 to 2022. In September 2022, he became the Party Secretary of the CAD.
