
On the afternoon of October 21, President Hao Rong of the Central Academy of Drama (CAD) held talks with Rector George Shalutashvili of Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University from Georgia, along with Nana Letsveridze, Head of the International Relations Office, and Meri Dadiani, Technical Director. The meeting was also attended by Ju Ping, Director of Foreign Affairs, and Xiang Yueyi from the Foreign Affairs Office.

Hao first extended a warm welcome to Shalutashvili and his delegation. He reviewed the long-standing history of cooperation between the two institutions and expressed gratitude for the longstanding support from the Georgian partner. Based on such fruitful results, he looked forward to continuing the excellent tradition of collaboration while exploring innovative cooperation mechanisms. Additionally, Hao congratulated and expressed anticipation for the Georgian play to be performed at the International Theatre Festival 2025, hosted by World Theatre Education Alliance (WTEA) and organized by the CAD.
Shalutashvili expressed his gratitude to the CAD for its warm hospitality. He emphasized the importance his university places on its relationship with the Central Academy of Drama and acknowledged the significant contributions of the WTEA as an international platform for exchange. He also reaffirmed his belief that, by collaborating with more member schools, theatre education would see an even more prosperous future.
Following the talks, the two parties renewed their Memorandum of Understanding for a new chapter in educational and research collaboration between the two institutions.

On the evening of October 22, the CAD’s Vice President Xu Zhen met with H.E. Ambassador Paata Kalandadze of Georgia to China, along with Senior Counselor Ms. Tinatin Shishinashvil at the Embassy of Georgia to the People's Republic of China, at the Changping Campus of our academy. They also engaged in a friendly exchange with representatives from Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University. All sides expressed their willingness to contribute to the promotion of cultural and educational exchanges between China and Georgia.
