Graduate Students Present Two Productions in Blackbox Theatre

Graduate students presented two productions “The Nightlife of Two Low People” and “An Old-fashioned Comedy” from May 28th to June 3rd and from June 8th to June 14th in the Blackbox Theatre.

“The Nightlife of Two Low People” was written by the contemporary playwright Li Baoqun. The play told of an accidental and embarrassing meeting of two unemployed people, who used to be classmates in high school. When they meet a cold winter’s night, one is running a tricycle for a living, and the other is selling dolls on the street. The production was directed by Wang Gen, a directing M.A. student, whose tutor is Prof. Liao Xianghong. The stage designer was PhD. student Gao Guiyu, whose tutor is Prof. Zhang Kangmei.

   The production “An Old-fashioned Comedy”, written by the famous playwright Aleksei Arbuzov of the former Soviet Union, was directed by the directing M.A. student Liu Jiusi, whose tutor is Prof. Ding Ruru. The stage designer was the M.A. student Liu Qiutong, whose tutor is Prof. Xu Xiang.
