On the afternoon of November 18, President Hao Rong of the CAD met with Professor Mark O’Thomas, CEO & Principal of the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA), and Georgina Firmin, Commercial Director, along with their colleagues. The meeting was also attended by Ju Ping, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office.
President Hao Rong extended a warm welcome to Professor O’Thomas and his team. He mentioned the CAD’s visit to LAMDA in June soon after the latter had sent a delegation to Beijing in May this year. Meeting again with the principal in Beijing this time demonstrates both parties' sincerity and confidence in promoting substantive cooperation.
Professor O’Thomas stated that LAMDA places great importance on the cooperative relationship between the two institutions, expressing the hope that through cooperation with the CAD, they could jointly enhance teaching, research, and internationalization levels at both institutions.
Following the meeting, both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further promote cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of educational research.
After the signing ceremony, Professor O’Thomas and his delegation observed a class of Performing in Musicals for the first-year students, accompanied by the Dean Dai Jingsong of the Department of Musical Theatre. They engaged in an in-depth exchange regarding the training methods for musical theatre performance at both institutions.
