On the morning of April 10, 2024, Prof. Alejandro Puche from the Drama Department and Professor Ma Zhenghong from Universidad del Valle in Colombia visited the CAD. They were received by President Hao Rong, along with Director Ju Ping of the Foreign Affairs Office, Director Yang Shuo of the Department of Directing and Prof. Bian Wentong from the Department of Stage Design.

Prof. Ma Zhenghong’s previous visit to the CAD was in 2000, when she conducted a two-month workshop on Chekhov for students of Directing. Subsequently, in 2008, she and Prof. Alejandro Puche jointly directed the plays, ‘Molière’ and ‘Pedro de Urdemalas’ for the class of directing and acting students enrolled in 2005. President Hao Rong extended a warm welcome to visit again after many years and expressed strong anticipation and support for Puche’s sharing of the cooperation suggestions on theatrical creation.

The two sides also engaged in a discussion on how to best foster dialogue and exchange between Asian and South American civilizations within the framework of the Asia Theatre Education Centre (ATEC). Prof. Puche informed that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Universidad del Valle, during which the university would host a series of celebratory events, for which he cordially invited faculty and students from the Central Academy of Drama and ATEC member institutions to visit Colombia. President Hao Rong expressed heartfelt gratitude for this invitation.
