On the morning of November 3rd, Dr. Benjamin Schostakowski, course leader for MFA Directing at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Australia, visited the CAD and met with Director Ju Ping and Project Manager Chen Yi of the CAD’s Foreign Affairs Office.

Dr. Benjamin expressed his great appreciation for the privilege of visiting the CAD for the first time. He elaborated NIDA’s longstanding commitment to practical and innovative teaching methodologies aligned with industry standards, especially in the field of directing, since its establishment in 1958. Furthermore, with international students constituting approximately 14% of the first-years, he expressed his keen interest in facilitating future programmes and events between the CAD and the NIDA.

Director Ju Ping recognised NIDA’s profound reputation in the field of theatrical education worldwide. She highlighted previous visits by NIDA representatives to the CAD, dating back to 2007, which showcased exceptional productions. Director Ju Ping articulated her optimism that Dr. Benjamin’s visit would inaugurate a fresh chapter of exchange and collaboration between the two esteemed institutions, with a common goal of nurturing influential artists in the field of theatre and film industries on a global scale.
