The General Secretary of UNESCO, Ms. Irina Bokova, and Prof. XU Xiang signed an agreement recently, naming the Central Academy as a UNESCO Chair on Theatre Education. At present, only two theatre schools have been conferred with the title, the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) and the Central Academy.
