Dewayne Barrett has studied acting at the Dance Centre of the Broadway and the Stella Adler Conservatory USA.

He has worked as choreographer and director for many art schools or troupes, including Atlanta Jazz Theatre Dance Company, Georgia Ballet Dance Company, Niagara University NY, Cumberland Summer Theatre, Venice Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre, Post Playhouse etc. He has been appointed as a visiting teacher at Florida Studio Theatre, teaching tap dance, Jazz and musicals. He conducted many musicals‘orkshops and was one member of Screen Actors Guild USA.

He has directed and choreographed many works, including 'Shrek' (2017), 'Mamma Mia' (2017), 'Crazy for You' (2017), 'Chicago' (2017), 'Fiddler on the Roof' (2014), 'Fame' (2007), 'Oklahoma' (2006) and other 70 plays.

Dewayne Barrett was employed by the Musical Department from 2019 as an expert in teaching acting and jazz. Meanwhile, he worked with teachers of the Department in rehearsing graduation plays, including 'Oklahoma' and 'In The Heights'.
