Munehiro Toda graduated from Nihon University College of Art, Japan in 1965, and worked as a teacher there from 1974 to 1992. And he was devoted to theatre activities, took positions of director and member in International Theatre Association, Japan Performing Arts Association, Japan New Drama Producer Association and other drama related organizations.

His research fields focused in theatrical planning and production, theatre education and applied theatre. He taught courses in Nihon University, including Study on Theatrical Planning, An Introduction to Stage Art and Art Management. He established the TOM Production Office and produced many theatre plays, one of the plays Go En Ka has staged at our Academy.

Prof. Toda was invited as our visiting professor in 2003, he took the positions of Executive Director and Director of the Executive Committee of the ATEC (Asian Theatre Education Centre), currently, he was appointed as the Secretary General of the Centre.
