Natalia Kolotova graduated from the School of Music and Film of the Leningrad State Theatre Russia in1979 (it renamed as Saint-Petersburg State Institute of the Performing Arts) majoring in Theatre and Film Acting. After, she studied theatre directing at Saint Petersburg Theatre Academy.

From the year of 1985, she has been working at The State Academic Maly Theatre as Chief Director’s Assistant and Assistant Director. She has directed more than 20 plays, including The Fruits of Culture, A Woman and A War, Our Class etc. And she has been taking the position of Associate Professor for Acting and Production at Saint-Petersburg State Institute of the Performing Arts, during this period, she has published no less than 10 academic papers.

Since 2015, she has been employed as the responsible teacher of the class of the “2+2” Dual Bachelor’s Degree between the Acting Department of our Academy and Saint-Petersburg State Institute of the Performing Arts, and she has directed many plays with our teachers of the Acting Department for teaching practices.
