David Glass

David Glass is a notable drama artist and applied theatre worker in contemporary Britain, he is also a pioneer in physical and visual arts, improvisational theatre, ensemble and applied theatre.

Training at the Lecoq school, he also studied with well-known theatre director Peter Brook from the UK, famous dancer and choreographer Alvin Ailey from the USA, the expert of acting method Lee Strasburg from the USA. He has worked in 12 theatre troops for acting, directing and playwrighting, and has taught in 56 renowned theatre art schools, theatre troops and art centres, including Central School of Speech and Drama UK, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art UK, Amsterdam Theatre School Netherlands, Creative Practice Bridport Arts Centre UK etc.

He launched the “Lost Child Project”in 1997 benefiting more than ten thousand of street children from 22 global countries. In 1999, he established David Glass Ensemble that has toured in 32 countries, his works Gormenghast has winned TMA award, the foremost drama award in UK. In 2002 he established Ensemble Films with Paul Zetter and other film makers. In 2016, he found the Creative Practice Centre which did more than 12 workshops all over the world till now.

David Glass has been invited to conduct workshops for graduate students of Theatre Literature Department in 2016, since then, he was employed as an expert in the Department teaching courses on dramaturgy and applied theatre.
