On the morning of December 26th, a group of 37 students from Hong Kong visited our institute for educational exchange and exploration, organized by the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Beijing Municipal Political Consultative Conference. The welcoming ceremony was attended by Vice President Xu Yongsheng, Director Jiang Tao of the Department of Directing, Director Guo Yuejin of the Department of Peking Opera, Director Zhou Yan of the Department of Theatre Pedagogy, and Director Wu Yajun of the Department of Film and Television Art. Director Ju Ping of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Affairs.

During the meeting, Vice President Xu Yongsheng briefly introduced the history and current situation of the CAD’s development before watching promotional videos together with the visiting team.

Then, the visitors entered the directing department’s classroom and observed classic plays such as ‘The Crucible’ performed by students themselves, unique visual sketches from the Department of Theatre Pedagogy, innovative academic practices in the Department of Peking Opera focusing on “traditional and modern Peking Opera basic training,” and student short films from Department of Film and Television Art.
