Mr. Xu Yongsheng is a CPC member, a professor and a master's supervisor. He now serves as Party Secretary of Party Committee of the CAD.

He also serves as Vice Chairman of National Steering Committee for Art Teaching at Higher Education Institutions, Standing Director of China Art Education Federation, a director of China Theatre Association, and Vice Chairman of Beijing Theatre Association. Besides, he is the initiator of China Collaboration Innovation Center for Theatre Arts Management (CCICTAM).

He graduated from the Department of Stage Design at the CAD and stayed to teach upon graduation in 1989. He holds a BA degree in Art, and a master’s degree in Theatre and Chinese Traditional Opera (Xiqu). For years, he has been engaged in teaching. He has been acting in different roles at the CAD: Deputy Director of the Department of Practical Learning, Director of Performance Centre for Practical Learning, and then Assistant to President (while being the Director of President’s Office at the same time in 2010). He became Vice President of the CAD in December 2010, and meanwhile acted as the Director of the Department of Theatre Management from December 2011 to December 2013. In September 2022, he became the Party Secretary of the CAD.
